Here it’s rendered in vibrant reds, blues and yellows in Mina Mina Dreaming – Women's Hairstring (Lot 9097 ).

The Mina Mina is also a key motif for Dorothy Napangardi and her Sand Hills at Mina Mina (Lot 9034) is another fine example, a delicate and intricately dotted monochrome works that subtly illustrates the movement of her female ancestors through the desert.

Pintupi woman, Makinti Napanangka, was the most senior of the female Papunya Tula artists, also represented in the landmark 2000 exhibition, Papunya Tula: Genesis and Genius at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Lupulnga - Hairstring (Lot 9035 ) is a beautiful example of the Kungka Kutjarra (Two Women) narrative, the rhythmic, flowing lines representing the swirling hair-string skirts worn by the Two Women as they danced and sang.

Newer collectors have an opportunity to join the market or build their collection with several works below the $1,000 estimate. Senior Alawa artist Barney Ellaga who was known for his dynamic and vibrant canvases, features with the arresting Dum Ngum Ngata Nyana (Lot 9042 ).
