Born in Shanghai, China in 1933 Jenny Sages arrived in Australia in 1948. She studied at the East Sydney Technical College from 1950 to 1951 and the Franklin School of Art, New York from 1951 to 1954. She I known for her abstract landscapes but she also painted portraits, amd won the 1992 Portia Geach Portrait prize. She has exhibited in solo and group shows from 1986 in Sydney and Canberra. Here work has been included in the Art Gallery of New South Wales Archibald, Wynne, Dobell and Blake Prize Exhibitions.
