About Douglas Roberts
Born in South Australia in 1919, Douglas Roberts was a painter and teacher. A lecturer at the South Australian School of Art, he was a foundation member of the South Australian branch of the Contemporary Art Society. He won numerous provincial art awards and is represented in the national and several state collections.
We have records of art auction sales by Douglas Roberts from 1985 and in total 110 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 62 (56%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $5,175 for Surrealist Landscape sold by Sotheby's in April 1998. This year 5 works have been offered for sale.
