William Rees was born in the north east of England in 1933. He became a full time artist and sculptor in 1980, and in 1984 emigrated to Perth, Western Australia. He produces figurative, landscape and still life paintings and bronze sculptures. He has held a number of solo exhibitions both in England and Australia. He became an Exhibiting Member with the Royal Art Society of NSW, and in 2002 was appointed a Fellow of the Royal Art Society of NSW. He returned to his birthplace, County Durham, England, date unknown.
