Born in New Zealand in 1909, Emily Jackson lived in Auckland from 1957, but did not become a painter until the 1970s when she was in her 60s. Mentored by Colin McCahon, she is best known for her primitive figurative paintings and New Zealand landscapes using oil and acrylics. Emily Jackson exhibited with the Auckland Society of Arts.
We have records of art auction sales by Emily Jackson from 1990 and in total 48 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 38 (79%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,203 for Northland Winter sold by Dunbar Sloane in July 2023. This year one work has been offered for sale.
